A company called Testronic Labs is eventually going to end the need for MMO companies to schedule public stress tests for their games to evaluate their servers. VENUS Blue is the only performance testing tool capable of emulating a massive amount of players, allowing developers to test their MMOs internally.
This is fortunate for fans of MMOs who follow upcoming games, as it should cut developmental delays, issues and what not by a considerable amount, as optimizations can be performed much more efficiently.

Stratics recently sat down with Fallen Earth lead designer Lee Hammock for their recent writeup and when asked “What makes Fallen Earth different?”, Lee replies with “Imagine building combat robots…” in jest. Despite the full-page run down on the post-apocalyptic MMO, that was about the only piece of new information on the game, provided Lee wasn’t just bluffing.

In part two of MMOGamer’s recent interview with Fallen Earth lead designer, Lee Hammock, Lee elaborates on previously known information.
Anyone who follows the development of Fallen Earth should already know how much work is being put in the background story of the game, but after reading this interview, that aspect is really something that Hammock seems to be extremely proud of. Judging from the official fictions that are written and posted on the Fallen Earth forums at least twice a month, the writing team at Icarus studios is highly proficient and have a lot of time to dedicate their craft to the game’s rich history and lore, which is important to the game’s immersion and atmosphere. The storylines and story arcs will definitely attract and satisfy many roleplayers and fans of the game, and perhaps even impress players who couldn’t care less about the story.

NCSoft is attempting to extend the lives of two of their longer running franchises by launching a pair of promotional sites to aid in the marketing of Guild Wars and Lineage II and introduce them to new players. The two websites are done entirely in Flash and do an excellent job at highlighting the game’s main selling points.

Warrior Epic is one of the latest free-to-play MMORPGs to hit the massively multiplayer scene, though it’s actually more like an online RPG a la Guild Wars and Hellgate London than a true seamless, persistent universe. According to the FAQ, Warrior Epic’s campaigns are designed to be played cooperatively. You can play the missions solo, or with up to four friends.
