Publisher Wicked Interactive recently announced the release of Ace Online’s open beta phase, a free MMO sci-fi aerial shooter with RPG elements that went by the name of Space Cowboy Online before it closed down late last year. The game is also known as AirRivals in the European version. Wicked Interactive is hosting a number of events and givaways in celebration of the launch with various tournaments, premium item drawings and special campaigns.
Players in Ace Online fly combat vessels called “Gears” which can be upgraded with a variety of weapons, armor, skills and abilities as levels are gained, while taking part in PvE and PvP scenarios. The fighting happens in real time, with the player directing his/her own flying craft using their mouse and keyboard to aim, fire and travel.
